Day 23 and still kicking!
Day 23 was a big day. Last day of dance summer intensive and I took my dancer to the Galleria. It was huge. We found a chipotle that had a lunch that worked. For dinner, we got home and I was exhausted. I made a simple hashbrown, egg and bacon dinner but drats, I didn't get the photo! At the mall I was trying on shirts and clothes and really feeling like I have made some big changes. Even got my hair done!
Day 22...
Time is flying now. Tried that Asian salad again with chicken. Dinner we tried an Eggplant Lasagne. It was really tasty. First time trying eggplant.
Day 21! 1/3 there!
Over 1/3 there! All going well. What a feast!
Day 20
I made it day 20 with no deviation! I'm so excited. I honesty thought this would be very difficult for me. I'm feeling fantastic! My shirt sizes seem to be smaller and I can see visual differences. I'm thinking that if this is day 20 what will day 30 be like~!
Say 19.
So I'm feeling like I have a little more clarity. That's a good thing. Feeling like I can cut down on portion size and not be worried about getting hungry. I also need to drink more water because I notice a difference.
Day 18.
So today I took my dancer to the Dog Show. I had so much fun the first time and wanted her to see everything. Boy was I in for a surprise. They had dog grooming with a twist. Had to show you some of the photos. First we went to church to hear Lee Stobel speak then to the dog show. You will notice no photo of lunch. I had that trusty Traders Joe bar for lunch. Feeling great today. Wondering where I got all the energy. I can say, that when I arrived home, I was wiped out!!!
Day 17 and all is going great.
I felt like I need some more greens so added a salad to breakfast. Remember the Whole 30 you don't snack. You just eat the meals so there have been lots of potatoes and things to keep you full.
Day 16 shenanigans.
So my friend told me I should go to the dog show in Houston. I had just watch Best of Show and I was down for checking it out. It was amazing!!!! I walked all over the place, I can't even tell you, how many times. So much going on. Anyway, I got lots of exercise and didn't even think about it.
Day 15 and half way there!!!
So for day 15, I wanted to go check out the boardwalk area and were the marina was for boats. After my breakfast and dropping off my dancer, I made the trek. Once there, I found a restaurant that told me there was no problem ordering my food how I wanted it. That was AFTER talking to 3 different people there. The waiter was great. He was very accommodating, recommending to me that I order steamed broccoli to substitute the mixed vegetables because he wasn't sure if they added anything in the mix. Also, it was no problem to sub the rice for a baked potato. I thought I'd even splurge with some oysters because, after all , it was day 30. I wasn't to close to home and I didn't want to get hungry before having a chance to make dinner. All was fantastic until I got the bill. They had decided that a $5 extra charge was needed. That would have paid for 1/2 the oyster plate and I wouldn't have ordered the oysters. I'm not dripping with extra cash here and we are talking about a simple lunch. The end result left me thinking that one has to ask the prices before doing anything. I'm not one to just pay extra for no reason. The reason I asked all the questions up front is to get the information up front. I had been eyeing a salad that was completely compliant and would would have cost 1/2 of what they charged for my lunch. So while Landry's Seafood was able to accommodate the Whole30, you need to ask up front what extra charges they will give you. In addition there were things with the meal; that I didn't take, due to not being compliant. Anyway, waiter said he would send over manager and that didn't happen. My point is ASK if you don't want to get slammed with extra fees. That just ruined the whole lunch.
Day 14. Two weeks and feeling better.
DAY 13 and all is good. I had a snack because of running around and not getting home on time for lunch. The Chomp, from Trader Joes was perfect. My shirts are hanging a bit looser. I'm feeling good! Loving the food and not really missing regular junk food or my typical dinners very much. Can't wait to see day 20 and what results that will bring.
Day 12
Day 11
Day 11 was a big day. We spent our time at the Houston Museum of Science. It was a fantastic trip. SADLY, I forgot to take a photo of my breakfast but let me explain that it WAS Whole30. To date, I've not jumped off the plan. I felt good but I was a bit moody for a bit. Still, feeling like the upper body is a little less than when I started.
Day 10
So here we are on day 10. I'm really starting to feel like I'm feeling better. I sleep great! Lots of stress going on, in my life, but still feeling good. I'm starting to feel like bloating is going down. Steps are a little lighter.
Day 9
Day 9 and all is well. I was trying to mix things up a little and looking forward to some lamb chops. I found the muscles at Costco and could not resist. The mixture would usually have wine but I used some of the homemade chicken broth that I had previously frozen. Seems like the week has flown by. I've noticed that I do not look or feel bloated. My shoulders and upper checks seem to have an improvement but not certain.
Day 8 |
Made it through the first week and all is well. Feeling really good, except had a 30 minute time when I was very moody. I can't blame that on the whole30, however because there are other factors. My life has turned upside-down and there is so much stress and uncertainty that I'm dealing with, that I don't know where that moodiness came from. I can say that I have felt really good on the Whole30 and if I were eating like I normally do, I'm sure that 30 minutes could have been 3 hours. Not tired of any of the foods, yet and I'm not missing anything. I don't crave anything, as of yet.
Day 6 and all is well
Day 6 and all is well. Repeat from breakfast day 1, because it was really good. Someone Brought the brisket over and it was amazing. Cut the outside off because I wasn't sure what the spices were and if there may have been sugar. The mashed potatoes at dinner where great. I'm the mashed potato queen, making the best mashed potatoes ever, so this was a challenge. What I did was use some of the chicken broth and some ghee and they turned out great.
Day 5 on the Whole30 ride
Day 5. Loving the food on the Whole 30. This is my first time and I'm learning I need a certain amount of protein and veggies and fat. I hadn't been thinking about the fat and I must think about a little olive oil, olives, or avocados to add to the meals. All good and not missing anything so far!
Day 4 |
Day 4 started with the potatoes I pre-baked last night. I cut them up in squares and threw them in a pan with a splash of olive oil and then tossed on, Everything but the bagel, seasoning. I used some of the fruit salad that was left over from yesterday and added a few more pieces of fruit to freshen it and mix it up. Lunch was left over chili from last night and 2 cuties. (they were so tasty the night before) We were in Houston for the evening so I looked up Barnabys and found they have a chef salad. I ordered that and asked for the cheese to stay in the kitchen. I then asked for lemon and olive oil to make my dressing.
